If your venue offers both an indoor hall and an open lawn, the choice is usually less about taste and more about weather, timing and the kind of evening you imagine.
Choose the hall when…
- You are planning in peak summer, monsoon or deep winter and want a climate you can control.
- You want dramatic lighting, chandeliers and a stage that looks the same whatever the weather does.
- Your event has a formal programme with speeches, felicitations or presentations.
Choose the lawn when…
- You are hosting in pleasant weather and want guests to move freely between conversations.
- Your event is daytime, relaxed and photographed in natural light.
- You have a large, mixed-age gathering and want space for children to play.
Or use both
Many families split the evening: ceremonies and dinner in the hall, welcome drinks or a casual start on the lawn. Ask your venue how the two spaces connect before you decide.
Whichever you pick, always have a weather-proof plan B in writing.
